Why it is happening
Silverfish. Above 18% wood moisture content you get fungal decay; above 20% you get carpenter ants and eventually powderpost beetles. We measure it and tell you the number.
What we actually do
- 01Moisture mapping with a pin meter at 12 points, recorded.
- 0212-mil reinforced liner, seams taped, piers wrapped, mechanically fastened.
- 03Sealed vents plus a conditioned dehumidifier with a condensate line to daylight.
- 04Borate treatment of accessible framing.
