Why it is happening
House Mouse. Mus musculus travels a 10–30 ft home range and is neophobic for about 48 hours. Rats are worse: a Norway rat will avoid a new object for a week, which is why bad rat jobs look like they worked and then do not.
What we actually do
- 01Interior snap-trap grid along runways, checked at 3, 10 and 21 days.
- 02Locked bait stations outside, checked and logged every visit.
- 03Exclusion with copper mesh, hydraulic cement and 19-gauge hardware cloth. No spray foam alone.
- 04Sanitation of droppings in accessible areas with a hospital-grade disinfectant.
Do this before we get there
- Clear the perimeter of the garage.
- Pull stored bins 12 in off exterior basement walls.
- Tell us where the dog sleeps.
