Why it is happening
Yellow Jacket. Vespula colonies peak in late summer then die at frost; only mated queens overwinter. Carpenter bees are different — they return to the same gallery every spring, which is why plugging without treating fails.
What we actually do
- 01Direct nest injection with an aerosol dust at dusk when foragers are home.
- 02Void treatment in soffits and wall cavities, then physical removal of aerial nests.
- 03Carpenter bee galleries dusted, left open 72 hours, then plugged with dowel and sealed.
Do this before we get there
- Keep windows on that elevation closed for the visit.
- Keep pets in for 4 hours.
- Do not spray it yourself first — it scatters the colony.
